Welcome to the 21st Century

Today I bought a digital camera. That sounds really normal and lots of people do it, I know. For me however, it’s a huge move in my technology savviness. I am not what they call a technology adapter. On the bell curve, I’m in the last 10% of people that adapt to technology.

My last cell phone was so old, the paint was peeling off of it. I finally got a new one when I went to look for a new plan and also because paint peeling off cell phones is not good for you. The cell phone before that, AT&T called me to tell me they were sending a new one, free of charge.

I think I’ve made huge improvements in the way of technology this year. I learned to text using the helping keys, I have a phone that has a camera on it, I use facebook, I bought a laptop, I started blogging and, now I have a digital camera.

I’m pretty proud of myself on this purchase because it’s the only technology I have purchased by myself. My brother bought my laptop and made it work. My friend Scott picked out my cell phone and made it work.

I emailed my friends to find out what they think about their cameras, I checked an online site called Digital Photography Review, and I even went on a cooking forum and posted in the non-food related category and got help from random strangers. Random strangers can be so nice!

I researched and researched and researched some more and came up with the Canon PowerShot A1000 IS.
It does all the stuff I want and then some. I’ll be learning about the features for quite a while I’m sure! I went to Wally World to buy it. They just so happened to have what I wanted at a price that would work. I amazingly got help from someone who new stuff as well. It’s always good to get help from people who know stuff.

While I’m proud of myself on this purchase, I still refuse to go on the internet from my cell phone. I refuse to twitter. I also refuse a crackberry because I do not want to know every moment I get an email.

Happy Friday! I’m off to a blackjack benefit!
