So on Saturday I went and saw "New in Town" the new movie about small town Minnesota (New Ulm). It goes without saying that they were definitely taking jabs at Minnesota. But the movie was cute...wait-until-it-comes-out-on-dvd cute. Not really see-it-in-the-theater cute.
I went to see it because I like Renée Zellweger. She always plays interesting roles. She's the actress for the rest of us.
She can play a very unattractive self sufficient settler opposite Nicole Kidman in "Cold Mountain." (drama)

She played sometimes insecure, sometimes oversecure single woman in the "Bridget Jones" movies. (comedy)
She played a man-eating murderess in "Chicago." (musical)
And she played the heartbroken adoptive mother in "White Oleander" who eventually kills herself. (drama)
By the way, I recommend all of these movies. I enjoy her depth and range as an actress. I also enjoy that we don't hear anything about her in the news because she doesn't feel the need to be married 5 times and adopt kids from every continent just for the media attention. Now, she could have been married 5 times and have 10 kids but I have no idea. That is the point.
I don't know if she's married or not, has kids or not. I have no idea if she lives in this country. She does not feel the need to get jobs by being controversial or sensational. There's an artist for you.
