Someone I used to work for said to me,
"There are two kinds of people, the kind that turn off the light when they leave a room and the kind that don't."
It's always a quote I think of when I see someone do something really careless or thoughtless.
So, I get to work at 7:30 in the morning. I'm not the first one in but I'm one of the first ten. Every morning there is a newspaper lying on the floor in front of the office doors. The office doors are always open (because I'm not first to get there).
Every morning I pick up the paper and set it on the receptionist's desk. My question is, (and perhaps I really don't want to know), who walks by and doesn't pick up the newspaper?
Do they do that when they go home? Or how about to visit a friend?
Someone else I used to work for had a funny interview trick. He would take a manilla folder, put some random paper in it and then throw it on the floor of the lobby. While someone waited for their interview, if they didn't pick up the folder to give to reception, he wouldn't hire them.
I thought it a very interesting test.
On a side note, I got some good news today - the first is, the last horse I sold is doing really great with his new owner and she loves him! That's great to hear and I'm super happy for them both!
Second, I won Viking's tickets at work today! They are the company tickets. I won two and someone else won two. Pretty good seats. I've never been to a NFL football game before - I'm a little scared of sensational-crazy-people-overload (that probably don't pick up their trash, much less newspapers), but I am going to brave it for the experience.
