Summertime

Yesterday I went to the first party of the "summer." This is an annual party they have been doing for five or six years. We were a little rained out but it was still a really good time. It's nice to catch up with friends and relax.

It is funny how things change, with people and their lives. Children really add an element:

The food table is filled with all kinds of unhealthy foods that children will usually eat:

It used to look more like this, with some hors d'oeuvres here and there (so just unhealthy adult food).

Now, the guys are still playing "shed ball."

This is a fully made up game using a soccer ball and a kid's basketball hoop - the rules and boundaries seem to change a little every year. Very amusing for the guys - they drink too much and then crash into each other. No judgement, it's just predictable and there are ALWAYS minor injuries.

I'm not throwing stones...last night several of us drank too much and rode a mechanical bull. Some of us rode it four times. It could have been the whiskey that thought that was fun.

I had a great time yesterday. I am paying for it today but it was worth letting loose a little with good friends...a great start to the summer!
