He Can Speak and We Can Easily Drink Wine

Just about every time I turn on the news nowdays I smile. Not because of the economy, not because a man was killed in a propane blast and most certainly not because of the H1N1 virus and most certainly not because our journalism is YELLOW, but because I usually get to hear a little bit of our President speak. Bush's ramblings and bumblings with his whiny voice used to grate on me every single time I turned on the news.

Now, not only do we have a President that is committed to looking out for everyone in our country, repairing our relationships abroad and at least trying to reduce the amount of damage we do to our world, he can also speak and speaks WELL.

Now I realize our Presidents' past and current have speech writers, I also know they have teleprompters. But I would hazard to guess President Obama reads his speeches before he gives them. I am not saying Bush did not, but I know that I personally do much better giving a speech after I have read it vs trying to read one off. Personally, I am best either hacking it altogether with nothing prepared or being prepared, writing a speech and using taking key points. This was not my idea, I have had plenty of speech classes in business school.

If President Obama is not taking any part in his speech writing or reading them beforehand, well then he is a genius. That works for me.

Just for fun, let's compare. Here is President Obama's speech in Cairo (he begins speaking at 1:00 minute):

Now, here is a clip of Bush's blunders (I know, not quite fair to compare but it was way more fun to post this one - we don't need a recap of the Bush-era policies anyway, we lived it):

Onto more important issues...

I have discovered an amazing new tool that allows a person to open wine easier. I'll bet a person could even open wine with a sprained wrist. Hopefully nobody gets one of those ever again, but don't worry, if you do you will still be able to open wine.
Okay it's probably not new to everyone but it is new to me and I would argue that it IS amazing. I don't know what it's called either (other than fabulous new corkscrew).
