I love the sound of coyotes. I understand that to many they can be a nuisance - and I definitely feel sorry for those that have lost pets because of them. However I can't get mad at a coyote for being a coyote.Found this on youtube (there is no picture):
And then today I stumbled across a blog about a woman who has one as a pet. http://www.dailycoyote.net/
Normally I am super against people keeping wild animals as pets. However, her living situation and the situation she obtained the pup out of makes me not so bothered by it. She also has a gazillion photos attesting to the care of him.
Okay, so I LOVE the sound of coyotes...but who's heard a fox? I had the misfortune of hearing one a few years ago while I was trying to fall asleep - when I was living in an apartment building by myself. I thought someone was getting ax-murdered! LOL I did actually visually see the fox make this noise, which is what stopped me from calling the police:
Isn't that the most horrendous noise EVER!?!
Okay, back to coyotes for the sake of ears...
One thing I've never heard "in person" is a wolf:
Coyotes I am not afraid of - they are easy to scare away and hunt small things and scavenge. Wolves on the other hand, I wouldn't feel great about happening upon randomly - given they hunt in packs and eat large things. Although I doubt I smell anywhere near as good as a deer, to a wolf. :)
Here's a lone Yellowstone wolf. Pretty cool I think:
Tomorrow I start a 12-day work week. We are shooting over the weekend - I'm told this is not a regular occurance, but it's still going to be a long week.
