I am never ever ever doing that again...

I was a bit gluttonous over the weekend.

I guess this was my celebration for finally getting a day off from work. I worked 135 hours from Monday the 9th to Friday the 20th. We were shooting during the week and all weekend.

Last night I went out with girlfriends (our annual hunter's widows party). This time no one brought kids so we got a little crazy. Between wine and cocktails and shots, I feel awful today. I can't remember the last time I had a bad hangover like this.

Every time I turn my head the room spins and I've been sipping on Sprite (I don't even like Sprite).

On Friday I went out to dinner at Cafe Maude. I absolutely loved it!

We were planning to just have wine and appetizers. But our appetizers actually made us want to order entrees (which is what they are supposed to do).

To start we had seared tuna and baked escargot. The escargot is what sold me on getting entrees. Wow! It was the perfect appetizer. I usually like to try to recreate things I've liked in the past but I have no idea how they did it.

For dinner I had the sauteed salmon with roasted cauliflower, braised escarole, house smoked pork belly and sidra.

And for wine I started with a sparkling wine and then switched to cabernet that I liked enough to write down. Peirano Estates 2007 It's very fruit forward but the finish is more black pepperish.

So my weekend was very indulgent - which was a good thing. I was feeling like I needed to indulge myself a little.
