Sunday Supper

My maternal great-grandmother started a tradition of Sunday supper. Every Sunday all the kids would come home for supper. My grandmother still does this in Pennsylvania and my mother does it off and on.

This evening my supper was alone, but it was actually pretty nice. Nice because I could make whatever I felt like making and I had no worry of mistakes – mine was the only appetite I needed to satisfy.

So, I pulled out the good olive oil:
And the good butter:
And I made Roast Chicken with Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts Salad.
I also made a loaf of Cottage Herb Bread.
I really like to cook so it was fun to get to spend some time doing it today. Of course, I eat throughout the process so by the time I get to plating, I’m barely hungry. That’s okay because it all keeps. I can eat this all week.

On another note, the cats are doing really well. The “Three Amigas” don’t leave the yard hardly ever and like to sleep near the garden.
I also shared my chicken skin with them tonight. They were pretty happy for that.
And it looks like we are going to get some rain! We need it!
