The other day, I saw a horse that reminded me of Mr. Ed and I thought I'd do some research on him.
Mr Ed (the horse from the 1960's television show) was a 1/2 Saddlebred, 1/4 Arabian and 1/4 Grade gelding. His registered name was "Bamboo Harvester." He was apparently registered with the American Saddlebred Association, which is not surprising. Even though he wasn't full Saddlebred, they are ever willing to bend the rules for the show; so it makes sense they would do it here.Here's his pedigree:
"Bamboo" was put down in 1970 at the age of 19. However, Hollywood did not publicize this, instead, they used another horse to pose for photos.
